About Rivers Speaking Solutions

We build where information and real life stop connecting.

Rivers Speaking Solutions connects health information and research with the realities of recovery and community life. We create media, education, and conversations that bring professional expertise and lived experience together, so people can understand the information and use it.

Why RSS exists

The information has to work in real life.

We know what it feels like when information, care, and everyday life stop lining up. RSS brings people from healthcare, research, and community together to help close that gap.

We listen to the people living with the questions, then build media, education, and practical ways forward with them.

A reflection from Angie

“In 2018, I was still trying to understand what had happened to me, how much had changed, and where to find information that made sense in my life. I found understanding in support groups and research labs.

Today, I want what I learned to be useful to somebody else. That is where RSS began.”

Angie Cauthorn, founder

“You’re better today than you were yesterday, and you’ll be better tomorrow than you are today.”

The people behind RSS

Two perspectives. One steady company.

Lived experience · Media · Community engagement

Angie Cauthorn

Angie is a two-time stroke survivor, aphasia advocate, podcast host, speaker, and moderator. She leads RSS media and community engagement, bringing questions from everyday life into research rooms, conference halls, and public conversations.

Her standard is simple: make the science clear, respect the person, and leave people with something they can use.

Strategy · Operations · Care-partner perspective

Charles Cauthorn

Charles leads RSS strategy and operations, helping turn ideas into work the company can deliver responsibly. He shapes the systems, partnerships, and practical planning behind the programs.

As Angie’s husband and care partner, he also understands what families carry after the appointment ends. That perspective keeps planning connected to the people the work is meant to serve.

The people behind the work

Rooted in community.

Angie and Charles met while serving as acolytes. Long before RSS had a name, they were learning the habits that still shape the work: show up, prepare carefully, respect the room, and serve something larger than yourself.

How we work

Serious about the work. Attentive to the person.

01

Listen first

Community knowledge shapes the question before we build the answer.

02

Translate with care

We make complex information clear without flattening the science or the person.

03

Build something usable

Every program and production needs a real next step, not just a good moment.

04

Protect trust

Partnership supports the work. It does not buy the conclusion or replace community voice.

Credibility and community trust

Lived experience. Professional preparation.

Angie’s advocacy, research participation, and professional preparation inform the way RSS works with partners.
